   After much anticipation, and many delays, Disney has released its newest addition to the Marvel Universe: “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.”

   This Marvel release is the highest-rated comic book movie of all time, in terms of audience score, according to Rotten Tomatoes.

   Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, the movie starts out with a backstory of Xu Wenwu: The Mandarin. Wenwu finds 10 rings which he uses to attack and conquer other civilizations. The Mandarin decides that he wants to take over the Ta-Lo. When he arrives at Ta-Lo, the Mandarin meets Shang-Chi’s to be mother, Lee. The two start falling in love and after a fight between them, Lee decides to leave Ta-Lo with Mandarin and have kids.

   The movie then cuts to the main characters, Sean and Katy, a couple living in San Francisco. Later, on a bus, the two are attacked by Razor Fist. Sean was able to fight them off, but in the process, he loses his amulet which allows people to come into the relm of Ta-Lo.

   After the fight, Sean gets a letter from his sister asking him to come back to China. It is at this point we find out that Sean is Shang-Chi and is the son of the Mandarin. From an early age, Shang-Chi has been learning kung fu from Death Dealer and the Ten Rings Organization. Sean abandoned his father and sister and moved to the United States after being given an assignment from his father.

   When they arrive in China, Shang-Chi dis-covers his sister, Xailing, again. He discovers that his sister has been running a fighting ring in China. And after a short fight between Shang-Chi and Xailing, which Xailing won, they are attacked by Death Dealer and some of the Mandarin’s gang.

   Shang-Chi and Xailing, along with Katy, are abducted and taken to the Mandarin. The Mandarin expresses his desire to conquer Ta-Lo again as he hears the voice of his deceased wife calling him from within the depths of the relm.

   Shang-Chi, Xailing, and Katy oblige and decide to go to Ta-Lo. When they arrive at Ta-Lo, they come across Shang-Chi and Xailing’s aunt, Jaing Nan. Jaing Nan subsequentially finishes Shang-Chi’s training as she was taught the same form of kung fu as he was taught.

   After Shang-Chi finishes his training, Man-darin invades Ta-Lo. Mandarin then goes to a chamber where soul sucking demons are held and where he thinks he hears the voice of his wife coming from. He breaks down the barrier keeping the demon away from Ta-Lo and tons of demons ravage the land. Even after a fight between Shang-Chi and the Mandarin takes place, in which Shang-Chi, the Mandarin still decides to keep opening the barrier between the two realms. Expecting to find his wife, the Mandarin is surprised to find the largest of the demons. The Mandarin and Shang-Chi finally team up team up with the help from Katy and Xailing to finally defeat the dragon.
