“He does teach good lessons for people, especially in this newer generation, but with them sprinkled in with radical views on women.”

Famed UFC (ultimate fighting championship) fighter, Andrew Tate, has been the subject of newfound controversy due to the unpopular opinions he has voiced on his social media platforms and in interviews, which in turn have caused outrage online. As a result, most major social media sites have taken to banning his accounts.

For those who do not know, Andrew Tate is a British-American former kickboxer who gained popularity through his controversial presence on social media. Tate primarily advocates for people to be ambitious, saying, “If you sit there and say I’m sad, you can change that, all you have to do is try.” Although he is correct with these statements, Tate took things too far. He has come out on his YouTube and TikTok accounts saying mental health isn’t an issue and people are just being weak. He also added that he would rather date someone far under his age due to them having less experience sexually, and lastly, he made a comment stating that victims of sexual assault should take responsibility for the crimes committed against them. A possible explanation behind these statements is his alleged deportation from foreign countries due to sexual assault cases against him. Finally, he labeled women as a male’s object during an interview with fellow content creators on YouTube.

Famous podcaster Joe Rogan, known for his podcast the Joe Rogan Experience, heavily covered Andrew Tate on one of his latest episodes. Rogan weighs in saying, “he messed up by putting in all the misogynistic stuff. If he stayed to only saying the pro male, and pro accountability stuff then he would be good.” Rogan also said that he believes part of his online fame is an act. But at the end of that segment, he exclaimed that he would be okay allowing Tate on the podcast.

Since he was banned, Andrew Tate has taken to moving to platforms such as Rumble to continue posting his content and to escape cancel culture that is so prevalent in mainstream social media sites by adding, “on Rumble I will be able to make a joke without being destroyed and annihilated.” The website reported a 45.3% growth in usership of the app since Tate’s decision to start using the app. Andrew Tate said that he is deciding to move to Rumble to enjoy more freedom to continue creating content, according to sky news. Many social media experts believe that Tate’s decision to move to Rumble was smart because it allows him to continue voicing his opinions and keep his popularity.

His gaining attention has provided young and impressionable children with life lessons that are completely inappropriate and have no place in society, especially since nowadays younger children have way more exposure to people such as Tate through the internet. He does offer good life lessons on his platforms such as his beliefs in pro masculinity, not paying attention to one’s feelings, and pro accountability which do need to be taught nowadays. He is however only going to hurt the younger generations by teaching them that acts of sexual assault are acceptable. In addition to that he also has taught that women are men’s property by saying, “it’s okay for men to have multiple partners because they’re not sexually exclusive, unlike women.” It’s best for social media sites to remove his accounts instead of allowing him to teach and supplying harmful opinions to younger generations about the topics he often covers and hiding behind his wealth accumulated through his past in kickboxing to cover for his recklessness online. In summary, he does teach good lessons for people, especially in this newer generation, but with them sprinkled in with radical views on women, it’s easy to see why he has been discredited and taken off all major media sites online.
