Boys Soccer Takes Its Best Shot

  Gulf Breeze has again started all their seasons off with great records of 5-1 for the Freshman, 7-1-1 for JV, and 5-1 for Varsity.

   The Varsity coming off a 5-0 win against Choctawhatchee look to extend their winning streak against Pensacola Catholic. JV on the other hand brought home a trophy from their tournament that they played in Navarre.

   Playing only three games, Dolphins JV tied their first game 1-1, won their second game 2-1, and made it over their last hump beating Booker T Washington 3-2 to win their bracket and the tournament.

   Gulf Breeze’s freshman team got roughed up but turned a corner in their bracket coming in second place. The freshman plays Navarre this Friday at home. Dolphins JV plays this Wednesday at home against Pensacola Catholic as well.

   When asked, Coach King said “I am incredibly pleased with the work the boys have put in so far this season. We have had a few obstacles, some injuries and games not going our way, but I am confident we are building in the right direction to make a strong playoffs push.

   Our trip to Tampa in January will be great to see where we stand in terms of the top teams in the state and should prepare us for the road ahead.”

   Will Woodward and Gavin Both lead the Varsity team with 4 goals each. Lucas Isakson leads the JV team with 4 goals. Noah flint leads the freshman team with 6 goals. Will Woodward leads the Varsity team with 5 assists. Collen Bennet leads the Dolphins JV team with 3 assists. And Will Dannreuther with 5 assists.

   To close the season of soccer the Gulf Breeze JV will play Gulf Breezes Freshman team for the Blue and Gold Classic on January 22 at 1:00 pm.

   The freshman team has been battling injuries all season. Meanwhile the JV haven’t really made any changes and continue to play extremely well. Both teams have had difficulties, but this will be a game you don’t want to miss.
