The NFL season is set to kick off on Thursday the 8th of September with the Buffalo Bills taking on the Los Angeles Rams. Even though we are still a week till kick off there are still mind-blowing headlines reaching some of the top sport headlines in the world. One of the biggest headlines that hit us this summer was the trade of Seattle Seahawks Russell Wilson getting traded to the Denver Broncos for an Offensive lineman, a tight end, their quarterback and a few draft picks.

Tennessee Titans outside linebacker Harold Landry III tore an ACL during practice on Wednesday. He was their #1 top pass rusher and will miss the rest of the 2023 season. He led the Titans with a career-high of 12 sacks last season, making him the first Titans pass rusher with double-digit sacks since Brian Orakpo. He had 10.5 sacks in 2015.

From the moment the Denver Broncos landed Russell Wilson in a franchise-altering trade this past march, general manager George Paton insisted that the team’s goal was to sign the star quarterback to a long-term extension. Paton and the Broncos achieved that goal Thursday, agreeing with Wilson on a five-year, $245 million extension that includes $165 million in guaranteed money.

The Pittsburg Steelers have confirmed their starting Quarter back for the 2022 season. Kenny Pickett was selected to start for week 1 against the Cincinati Bengals. He lost the job to Mitch Trubisky, a 7-year veteran in the league that played for the Buffalo Bills last year. He was the second string for starting Quarter back Josh Allen in the 2021 season. Coach Tomlin said, “Were just really comfortable with what Mitch has shown us. Hes a guy that came to us with franchise experience. Hes comfortable in those shoes. Hes been the focal point of a football team, in the organization before. Hes had success in doing so. As I mentioned, when we acquired him, he took the Bears to the playoffs two out of four years. He had a winning record as a starting quarterback. Those things were attractive to us. His athleticism and mobility were attractive to us as well. He took care of the football in-stadium, all our quarterbacks did.”
