After months of getting it ready, it officially opened on March 7. Before the official opening, they hosted small events like a Bible study.

To build excitement and spread the word about the new location, Bear Fruits’ Instagram ran a week of giveaways, giving away bowls.

When getting an Acai bowl at Bear Fruit, you start by choosing one of their three bowl sizes. Then you pick from one of the 4 bases, following that you can choose a protein, which is either peanut butter or almond butter. Then they top off your bowl with four fruits of your choosing and finish it with a drizzle of honey or Nutella.

The Ford family started Bear Fruit back in March of 2022 with a location on the Pensacola pier. Bear Fruit has grown super-fast since then, and now there are locations in Perdido, Pensacola, Navarre, Pensacola Beach, and Gulf Breeze!

People are drawn to Bear Fruit not just because of how good the food is, but also because of the atmosphere. The locations bring a surfer vibe, decorated with vintage surfboards and local artwork. They don’t only sell acai bowls and coffee, but they also have t-shirts, stickers, and local coffee blends.

Senior Brooklyn Andrus, who works at the new Bear Fruit location, said: “My favorite part about working there is that all my coworkers and bosses are super friendly, and everyone is super close; it’s such a great positive environment to work in.”

The Ford’s mission with Bear Fruit is to create a place where the interactions of team members, quality of food, and atmosphere bring a sense of belonging and a feeling of love.

The Gulf Breeze location was bustling when it opened. The new location is great for Gulf Breeze locals because they no longer must drive over the bridge and risk getting stuck in traffic for hours. Being connected to inner light should bring more customers to both Inner Light and bear fruit.

Due to the perfect weather and surf competition, they had more customers than they thought. “Working the day it opened was fun, but also super busy. I got put to work at the grand opening for the proper location, and I’ve never learned anything so fast in my life.”-Andrus.

Maddie Harrel won one of the bear fruit giveaways and expressed, “I love bear fruit because they always have such a positive atmosphere. I keep coming back because their staff is very friendly and welcoming, and of course, the bowls and coffee are amazing. I totally recommend that everyone check out their new location.”

Bear fruit is a great addition to Gulf Breeze. The locally owned business brings a new connection to our town.  Ford’s vision has come to life. Bear Fruit has become more than a place to grab an acai bowl; it’s a place where people can connect and enjoy the positive atmosphere. If this sounds like a place you would enjoy, make sure to stop by the new Gulf Breeze Bear Fruit location.
