From intense practice sessions to community outreach, the Dolphins are setting high standards both on and off the mat.

“Practice today went super well; the amount of talent on the team is incredible,” shared Katelyn Calloway, senior in the Competition Squad. “Everyone is pushing themselves to have a spot on the mat. The intensity at practice was nothing but inspiring. Even though it’s only been the first practice, the whole squad is working hard and perfecting every skill for the state competition.” 

The team’s dedication is evident as they aim for the state competition, with aspirations to bring home a medal.

“The team and I have high expectations for this year. State is all everyone has been thinking about, and we are so determined to go to state and get a medal,” Katelyn added. 

Beyond their rigorous training, the Gulf Breeze High School cheerleaders had inspired the next generation through the “Dolphin for a Day” program. On September 29th, during the home game against Niceville High School, girls from Kindergarten through 8th grade joined the team to learn cheers and stunts and performed them at a football game. During Pre game and the first quarter, was time to girls from Kindergarten through 5th showed what they had learned, followed by girls from 6th through 8th grade performing in the 2nd quarter. 

 “The Dolphin for a Day is the best way to help inspire young girls to become cheerleaders! We teach them cheers and stunts to perform for the football game,” said Calloway , highlighting the fun and excitement of the event. 

As the season progresses, the GBHS cheerleading team continues to exemplify dedication, teamwork, and community spirit, setting the stage for a memorable year.
