In their home opener they went up against Fort Walton Beach and came out victorious with a 3-2 score. In their third game of the season, they had a massive 8-1 win against Destin and scored another prominent 9-2 victory over T.R. Miller. They lost to Milton and Pace in their most recent matchups, their recent wins more than make up for it.
“I’m looking forward to playing Niceville again if we get to districts,” says freshman and varsity player Summer Smith.
“I’m looking forward to playing Crestview again,” states junior and varsity player Reese Blankenship.
Junior varsity has also been doing well this season. They’ve won against T.R. Miller and Jay, having won 15-2 against the latter. They hope to get continuously better throughout the season and even make it to state.
Since the season has begun, both varsity and jv teams have been working hard to get better both physically and mentally.
“We don’t want to be at our top game right now. We want to be at our top of their game at the end of the season when it really matters,” states junior varsity Coach Lenora Watson.
“One of the big goals is probably going to state,” says Reese Blankenship.
The team has been getting consistently better, and the coaches hope to see that uphill climb continue. As well as making it to state, the players have some personal goals that help them on and off the field.
“My goal is to stay aggressive. I want to have fun and play hard knowing that if I make an error, I’m going to shake it off and keep on playing,” says freshman and junior varsity player Miah Morgan.
“Our main goals are to continue to have fun and make sure that we’re all reaching those individual goals every time,” explained Coach Watson.
It looks like this season’s team is full of great players who are sure to do what they can to get the team to state.
“The team has been super supportive, and even though we’re just getting started, we all feel connected,” says Miah Morgan.
“Our coaching staff, our girls, all of the above, the culture is amazing. And if you want to have some fun and watch some good sports, come out and watch some of our softball games,” states Coach Watson.
This season is sure to be a great one for both our varsity and junior varsity softball teams. They have staunch objectives, unwavering drive, and the determination to complete the 2026 season strong. These girls have back-to-back games every week in March except spring break and a busy April schedule.
So, come on out to a home game and cheer on our Lady Dolphins Softball teams.
