Both boys and girls have earned important early wins, showing momentum as they compete in a challenging district. The Dolphins have stood out for their teamwork, consistency, and confidence on the court.

“Our team has had a very strong start to the season,” Head Coach Mizti said “Both our boys’ and girls’ teams have competed extremely well and have picked up some impressive wins. The players have shown great effort, focus, and commitment in both practices and matches.”

The boys’ team, in particular, has stood out in dual matches this year, often taking control early and maintaining that advantage throughout competition.

“Our boys’ team has been incredibly dominant in dual matches this season,” Coach Mitzi Schafer said. “They’ve done an outstanding job controlling matches from the start and have given up very few games overall across their matches. That level of consistency and focus shows the work they’ve put in during practice.”

While the team has seen early success, players still face the challenge of balancing school, athletics, and other commitments throughout the busy season.

“Like any team, balancing busy schedules has been one of our biggest challenges,” Schafer said. “Our athletes juggle academics, practices, matches, and other commitments, so managing time and staying focused can be difficult. We also compete against very strong programs in our district, so every match requires preparation and mental toughness.”

Looking ahead, the team hopes to continue developing throughout the season while aiming for strong results in district competition and the postseason.

“Our main goal every season is to continue improving and competing at a high level,” according to Mitzi. “We want our players to develop both their skills and their confidence on the court.”

The team is also aiming to return to the state stage. Senior Eric Ormsby and junior Hudson Taylor, who finished as the No. 1 doubles state finalists last season, are expected to be key players for the team this year.

“They’ve continued to work hard and set a great example for the team,” Coach Mitzi said “We’re looking forward to the opportunity to compete at that level again and make another strong run.”

Another strength of the program is its depth. With 56 players across varsity, junior varsity, and sub-JV teams, the Dolphins have built a large and supportive tennis community.

“One of our biggest strengths this year is our depth and team chemistry,” according to Schafer “We have players who work hard, support each other, and push one another to get better every day in practice.”
