Starting off with 100 meters, the Girls came back from Battle by the Beach with a 13.34 from Freshman Sydnie Salmela, sixth place in the category for girls in our school’s history. In Gulf Breeze’s first ever Ambulatory section, there is a 20.88 from Senior Girl Addison Dahlem at the Terry Long FSU Relays.
Now, 200 meters, the Boys came back from FHSAA 3A District 1 with a 22.50 from Senior Donovin Blackwin, being the second fastest time for 200 meters boys in our school history. In the Ambulatory section, Senior Girl Addison Dahlem came back from the Terry Long FSU Relays with a 46.58.
In 400 meters, the Boys came back from FHSAA 3A District 1 with a 53.81 from Senior Donovin Blackwin, tenth in the category.
Additionally, in 800 meters, the Girls came back from Battle by the Beach with a 2:23.35 from Senior Gracee Hood, which is fourth in the category for our school.
In 1600 meters, the Boys came back from the Terry Long FSU Relays with a 4:23.59 from Junior Braedon Hunt, second place for all boys in the category from our school. And the Girls came back from the Terry Long FSU Relays with a 10:49.96 from Junior Ashton Dahlem, setting a record.
In 3200 meters, The Girls came back from the Terry Long FSU Relays with a 10:49.96 from Junior Ashton Dahlem also setting a record.
In the 400-meter hurdle section, Girls got a 1:13.67 from Sophomore Brooklyn Eaton at Battle by the Beach with 30-inch hurdles, setting a new school record. Boys came back from FHSAA 3A District 1 with a time of 56.91 from Senior Matthew Beam with 36-inch hurdles.
In the 4×200 relay at Fort Walton Beach Viking Relays, the boys got a time of 1:37.80, being a collective effort between Donovan Blackwin, Conner Branch, Douglas Anglim, and Truman Larsen, fourth in the category for Gulf Breeze.
In the 4×400, the girls came back from Fort Walton Beach Viking Relays with a 4:25.15, being a collective effort between Carley Thacker, Carley Deeds, Ashton Dahlem, and Gracee Hood.
In the 4×800, the girls, coming back from the Fort Walton Beach Viking Relay, got a collective 10:32.96, all being the work of Carley Thacker, Carley Deeds, Gracee Hood, and Ashton Dahlem.
In the SMR (Sprint Medley Relay) 800 meters, only the boys participated. The boys set a new school record with a 1:42.37 in the Fort Walton Beach Viking Relays, being a collective effort between Douglas Anglim, Truman Larsen, Conner Branch, and Donovan Blackwin.
In the DMR (Distance Medley Relay) 4000 meters, The Girls came back from the Fort Walton Beach Viking Relays with a new school record of 13:10.30, being the work of Carley Deeds, Macyn Steele, Gracee Hood, and Ashton Dahlem, which is a record for GBHS.
In shot put, Senior Addison Dahlem got a distance of 14 feet and 8.75 inches in the ambulatory girls’ section with a 4 kg ball at the FHSAA 3A District 1 meet. At the same event, Senior Kade Rollins got second place with a distance of 51 feet and 9.25 inches with a 12 lb. ball
And finally in Triple Jump, boys set a new record at FHSAA 3A District 1 from Tristen Pace with a distance of 44 feet and 10.75 inches.
“I feel that our team has progressed over the season,” said Emily Edwards, a Senior on the Track team. “The team is always improving every year. I can foresee our track team competing at the state championships next year.”
