Staff Editorial: Education Under Attack

  In light of recent political debates in schools — like the proposals to ban books, the fear of Critical Race Theory being taught in schools and suggestions that teachers begin to wear cameras to school — it’s beginning to seem as if the public is advocating for the regression of the education system. Instead of fully funding and supporting schools, lawmakers are thwarting and punishing teachers for exposing students to real world issues and fostering thoughtful discussions. All in all, lawmakers don’t have the public’s interest at heart. Rather, they are suggesting solutions to nonexistent problems, just to get elected.
