Attention all horror movie fans, it’s your favorite time of the year: Spooky season. There is no need to watch the same old Hocus Pocus movies… especially when the sequel has been released! Streaming sources like Netflix, Hulu, Disney +, etc. have all you Halloween fans covered this year. The Blue and Gold has done its research to find the top new top ten 2022 movies to keep you up all night.   

 

Not in any particular order, here are ten newly released movies: 

  1. Hocus Pocus 2: Now available on Disney +, someone finally lit the Black Flame Candle for the first time in 39 years so the Sanderson Witches are back to wreak havoc on Salem again. 
  1. Halloween Ends: Available on Peacock October 14, Michael Myers returns to taunt Laurie Strode in her final, never ending, battle with of the most iconic horror villains Halloween season has ever known. 
  1. The Good Nurse: Available on Netflix, based on a chilling true story a nurse starts to investigate her suspicious colleagues’ role in patients’ deaths. 
  1. Significant Other: Available on Paramount+, a couple goes on a back-packing trip through the Pacific Northwest, but things take a dark turn when they suspect they are doing this trip alone.  
  1. The School of Good and Evil: Available on Netflix October 19, based on the book, The School of Good and Evil, friends, Agatha and Sophie, are taken to a magical school for heroes and villains where their bond is put to the test. 
  1. Umma: Available on Netflix, a woman’s quiet farm takes a dark turn when the remains of her estranged mother arrive from Korea. 
  1. Fresh: Available on Hulu, modern dating is made scarier when this movie’s protagonist is fighting to survive after her boyfriend reveals his unusual appetites. 
  1. Bodies, Bodies, Bodies: Available on Apple Tv+, a group of young adults get stuck at a remote mansion during a hurricane (hopefully not Ivan) their party games go quickly a rye when a dead body turns up as they try to reveal the killer among them. 
  1. The Midnight Club: Available on Netflix, eight teens, some with illnesses, meet up to tell horror stories each night at midnight and look for signs of supernatural forces.  
  1. X: Available on Hulu, a group of young actors set out to make an adult film in rural Texas. When they are caught by their hosts, they find themselves in a fight for their lives.
