The Gulf Breeze Dolphins Varsity basketball team is currently 5-1 as of Dec 8. Their only loss has been to the Milton Panthers for the first game of the season, and they got their revenge in overtime on Monday Dec. 6. The final score was Gulf Breeze 61, and Milton 60.

The game was very back-and-forth with both teams staying even, while Gulf Breeze usually held small lead.

Towards the end of the game, Milton brought up their end and got a couple points ahead, and with less than a minute on the regular game clock, the Dolphins managed to tie it up.

Reece Bloomberg was the top scorer with 18 points. In overtime, the Dolphins started out with a couple of points and then Milton came back and got ahead, again.

Colin Slatton was the hero of the game, he made the shot that put Gulf Breeze at 61, but he also tipped Milton’s attempt at a buzzer beater.

This was an important win for the Dolphins, proving their superiority over local teams they play, be beating the only team that beat them. The Tuesday night after, they had a strong win against the Pace Patriots, 56-39.
