Dolphins Driving into the 2023 Season

The Gulf Breeze Golf team has started their season off strong. With fourteen new added players as of August 17th. Their tournaments spread out through the entire month of September and October.

All tryouts were held in late August at the Tiger Pointe golf course in order to determine all of their newcomers.

As of right now the boys golf team has been in 5 tournaments, ranging from locations like the Tiger Point golf course, Stonebrook, and Hidden Creek. However, they also have more in October with the last being on the 12th at Stonebrook against Pace, Milton, and Catholic.

They encourage you to stop by at their district championships, which is still to be determined of the location and time. But clear your schedules on October 31st and November 10th. As the 3A state finals, and the region 1-3A championships will be held at St. Johns Golf Course, and the Mission Inn Resort.

The girls’ golf team state championships will be on November 10th to November 12th. Which will be at the El Campeon Course Howey in the Hills.

Looking at the teams’ past seasons there is improvement. During their 2021 season, boys 1-2A placed third place, just being behind Fernandina Beach.

Gulf breeze also got second place during this time, in the 1-2A girl’s section.

Both teams’ seasons are still on-going, and both championships are yet to be played. The Pensacola Catholic High School, 12-time district champions of golf, are also going to be competing this year. They recently played Gulf Breeze High School with a score of 163.

Their most recent win being against Pensacola High School.

The boys PCHS golf team, 17-time district championships are also set to be playing Gulf Breeze in hopes of adding another win under their belt. They are one of the most respected and competitive golf teams in the state of Florida.

They had gotten district runner ups and were regional qualifiers. They will be a tough battle against the Dolphins seeing as they 1-1A boys took the district championship. But with the recent new players added Gulf Breeze is on the set path to try to take the trophy this year.

Some of the new players being Mitchell Busbee, Brayden Dadisman, Landen Emma, and more. As said the Dolphins still have more than half of their season to continue, and their districts and championships this month.
