Harry ready to return in Style
May 19, 2022
After two and a half years since Harry Styles’ last album, Fine Line, he is set to release Harry’s House, debuting May 20. Featuring 13 brand new tracks, and kicking off his new album announcement, he released one single, “As It Was,” about a week later which was a hit on various social media platforms.
Fans had been questioning Styles for a while about new music, or even an album coming out. They had been conspiring for months but what made fans more skeptical was a website, as well as an Instagram and Twitter account, being made with the tag name “You Are Home.” The website and social media pages are updated almost always daily, with new pictures being shown behind the door, curating more hints and theories.
Funnily enough, the first single was released on April Fool’s Day, with a music video preceding its release. The song received generous reactions, making it become the most streamed song in the United States on its first day.
The song itself has an upbeat sound but contains some personal lyrics. Styles explained what the song meant in a radio interview with Audacy, saying, “it is about metamorphosis and embracing change, and former self and perspective shift, and all that kind of stuff. And it just felt like the thing I wanted to say, and the thing I wanted to be doing, and the kind of music I wanted to make coming back.”
During Coachella, Harry Styles was one of the guests that got to play. After singing “As It Was,” he went on to sing two of his new songs on the album, “Boyfriends” and “Late Night Talking.”
While writing the album, Styles completed it before his Fine Line tour even began, managing to keep the album a secret for over a year, whilst giving out hints and Easter eggs while on tour, which the fans had been clueless about until after the fact. Styles’ goes on to say, “I feel like it’s first time I’m making music and putting music out from a real place of personal freedom.”
For the special album release, there will be a concert for the fans. The special concert will take place at the UBS Arena at Belmont Park, in Long Island’s Elmont, on May 20. According to a press release, the show will see Styles perform tracks from ‘Harry’s House’ for the first time ever. Tickets for the gig will cost $25, including taxes and fees, and the demand for the tickets will be high.
