Outer Banks has viewers on an emotional roller coaster. From the start of season 1 when the Pogue’s are on the hunt for the Royal Merchant, to the end of season 3 on another mission for a place called El Dorado. But what makes the show unique is what lies in between.
This adventure all started with John B Routledge (Chase Stokes) and his desire to complete his “dead” dad, Big John’s (Charles Halford), mission to find the Royal Merchant and its lost gold. John B’s lifelong best friend’s, JJ Maybank (Rudy Pankow), Kiara Carrera (Madison Bailey) and Pope Heyward (Jonathan Daviss) joined in and helped him on this adventure. After a long battle between the Pogue’s and the Kooks, the Pogue’s secured victory after completing this mission and finding the gold.
One thing led to another, and the Kooks got ahold of the gold. Sarah Cameron (Madelyn Cline) betrays her Kook brother, Rafe Cameron (Drew Starkey), to help the Pogue’s with acquiring their stolen treasures. This battle continued for months leading the search for the Royal Merchant gold to finding Pope’s family heirloom, The Cross of Santo Domingo. A huge gold cross that is worth millions.
After the Pogue’s finally found the Cross, they were forced to leave it behind. This led to the Kooks discovering it and taking their hard-working fortunes once again.
While the Kooks live in luxury and have their hired workers transport the Cross onto a cargo-ship, the Pogue’s are chasing them down trying to retrieve their priceless possessions.
While this battle continues on the ship, the Pogue’s meet a girl named Cleo (Carlacia Grant) who agrees to help them get the Cross. The Pogue’s end up going overboard, along with the Cross of Santo Domingo. Unfortunately for the Pogue’s, Rafe got a hold of the Cross and managed to pull it back onto the ship. John B, along with his group, sail a rescue boat miles away from the cargo-ship onto the deserted island of Poguelandia.
This transfers over to the wild ride of season 3. The Pogue’s were stuck on the deserted island for 7 whole months before a plane flew over the island and “rescued” them. Little did they know, the pilot, Jimmy Portis (Kraig Dane), was hired to take them to Barbados. As the season progressed, the drama and mystery started to get better and better. John B reunites with his “dead” father from listening to church bells, Sarah and John B’s relationship is on edge, JJ and Kiara confess their love for each other, the search for El Dorado is accomplished and the gold is acquired, and then a tragic ending with Big John’s death.
Outer Banks is definitely a show if you want to laugh, smile, or even cry. It provides a great deal of emotion and plenty of moments that make it seem real. This show gives you everything you could imagine.
